Gold Award Images

Wow, today has been a great day! I've just learned that one of my images has won a prestigious Gold award from the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) in their most recent monthly print competition. The image is of baby Joseph and here it is for you all to enjoy:



The shoot with Joseph was a lot of fun and it must have brought out the best in me because the image below was also awarded a Gold at the turn of the year while I was in the process of moving my business over to Northern Ireland. As I didn't get to post it then, I'm taking this opportunity to do so now. It's a little more serious than this month's winning image but still very cute all the same:



It's not all baby photos here, though. My work also gained 2 silver awards this month, in the 'Pets' and 'Contemporary Weddings' categories. Silver Award Images

After a gap of far too many months, I decided in February to enter some pictures in the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers monthly image competition. The judging has now taken place and I'm delighted to have been awarded six Silver Medals by the panel. Five of my award-winning images were from weddings or portrait sesions, including this shot from the Children category:



Must do better next month, though, and see if I can add to my collection of Golds.

My Gold Award Landscape Image

Back from our holidays now and into the swing of work again - seems like we were away for no time at all! One of the most pleasing parts of getting home was discovering that I'd received a Gold Award from the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers for this image:

The photo was taken in February near Enniskillen in Northern Ireland and received the award in the landscape category of the SWPP's monthly print competition for August. I also received seven Silver Awards, including for the portrait and wedding images I submitted. Isn't that cool - I feel really lucky to have my work recognised by the judges.

I'll be posting some images from our trip soon, starting with something special as a thank you to my wonderful wife.
